🌱October 20, 2025 - Lisa Bartlett and Ozzie Johnson, Lisa is a retired Manager at Smith-Gilbert Gardens and Ozzie is a Landscape Designer,  'Planting for Retirement: How to Stop Working so Hard in Your Garden'

 

🌱 NOTE: Speaker Meetings are held at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 4393 Garmon Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30327.

 

Gardener's Social begins at 6:30 pm followed by the evenings Program at 7:30 pm.  Check our Calendar of Events and Upcoming Events for more info about specific events. 

All Speaker Meetings are live streamed on our Zoom Webinar platform and are available to members online for one month following the event. Zoom Webinar live stream links are sent via email the day prior to the Program and post online viewing links are sent the day following the program. 

Attendance at our speaker meetings or viewing our speakers virtually may be used by Master Gardeners as part of their required annual 10 hours of Continuing Education.

Homemade Weed Killer - Is It Safe or Effective?

 

 

 

Homemade weed killers are the darling of the internet, but before racing off to make one of these concoctions, questions must be answered. Do these formulations work? Are they safe? Are they actually any more "natural" than commercial herbicides?

 

Almost all of the internet formulations of homemade weed killer start with a base of undiluted vinegar. (See note at bottom about horticultural vinegar). So our assessment starts there.
