Everyday Farm and Garden Pruning Workshop

Josh and Nikki Taylor of Every Day Farm and Garden

Saturday, March 14th, Perry and Lizella, GA

It all started with Jenks Farmer’s Substack essay “Barefoot with his Bushes, Josh’s Quiet Art of Pruning,” Jenks’ description of Josh and Nikki, and Josh’s passion for pruning and the use of formally shaped shrubs in overall garden design, not to mention the video of their garden (where we will get to practice pruning on Josh’s shrubs) made us pick up the phone and call to see if we could join Josh with his Winter structure and rejuvenation pruning. We think you’ll understand after reading the essay and watching the video! We’ll also visit their shop in Perry, have lunch at the charming, historic Swanson restaurant, and tour the nursery adjacent to their home. However, we will need to return in Spring to see Nikki’s full array of perennials, the focus of their nursery and shop. Early birds and late owls may consider joining Kathleen and Michell at the Peaches to Beaches Yard Sale, Georgia’s Longest Yard Sale. “Holy smokes! That’s the Peaches to Beaches Yard Sale that runs down 341 from Barnesville to Brunswick! I went with my sister a few years ago, and it was fun. One big weird yard sale with lots of churches and libraries along the route getting in on it.  We could do the yard sale too!” For the more sedate and serious among us, there is the American Camellia Society’s Massee Lane Gardens near Perry.
