McFarlane Nature Park Field Trip

Saturday, July 18th, 11 AM - 2 PM, 280 Farm Rd SE, Marietta, GA 30067

Join Georgia Perennial as we host a picnic at McFarlane Nature Park. Pack your picnic baskets with your favorite lunch treats and enjoy a day of fun in the sun followed by a naturalist stroll with Karin Guzy.

This beautiful 11-acre preserve was the first project of the Cobb Land Trust. The property was originally owned by Mrs. Florence McFarlane who willed it to the local community with the wished “to preserve the sanctity and tranquility of its natural state”. In 1992, a group of neighbors gathered with the stated mission "to focus on Piedmont-native plants and trees to support the environment and introduce visitors to native options." In 1995 Georgia Perennial donated $900 for the establishment of a Perennial bed in the newly formed park and in 2016 Georgia Perennial donated $1500 for its Forward Fund Endowment.
